Our Courses

Under the current Covid-19 government guidelines, we  have to hold our classes outdoors, and adhere to the 2 metre rule, but can only allow 1 person and 1 dog, and classes will be only able to allow 5 dogs per class. If the restriction changes then we will inform everyone.

This Puppy Foundation & Socialisation Course, is for puppies from 12 to 20 weeks old.

On this course we teach you  how  to train your puppy  the  basic requirements for good manners, and all  training in class is with positive, reward based methods.
We also teach you how to socialise your puppy correctly, so your puppy grows into a confident dog.

This is a structured 5 week course so you will learn something new every week.

Everything you learn in class will  be relevant to your every day life, we teach your puppy to focus on you, whilst there are distractions around them, to sit and stay,to leave items, to drop items that they have pinched, and much more.

The commands you learn on this course, are also put into exercises, so you can see how they will fit into your daily life.

At the start of each new class, we always revise the commands you learnt the previous week, just to see how you are doing, and if you are having any problems. Our aim is to make training enjoyable for both you and your dog.

This course is for dogs with sound temperament only. If  your dog barks at other dogs, or is not comfortable with other dogs around them, then a class environment may make your dog stressed, and you may be more suited to 1-2-1- Home Training session, where your dog can be trained in more familiar surroundings.

Testimonials

Recently attended the puppy training classes, which were excellent. Lots of new skills learned and lots to work on as adolescence approaches.

Hannah & Lucca

After an appointment with another dog trainer who’s approach was to include physical reprimands along with positive training, really concerned me and on that first session. Needless to say, I researched and contacted Kathryn. She not only worked so well with Alf, but she really understood his and my needs and objectives for the training. In an hour and a half, she had taught some of the basics and gave me so much invaluable advice. If you are looking for an understanding, experienced trainer who really does care then give Kathryn a call.

Cathy & Alf

This place is a must for all new dog owners. We have been on the puppy and junior classes and our dog is so much the better for it. You are offered a safe, fun environment with a very knowledgeable tutor. I only wish there was another course as we enjoyed it that much and our dog did too. Keep up the good work.

Mike, Yvette & Nellie

Kath is fantastic . 5*. Me and Dave loved our Thursday night training , week 1 he hid under a chair for the hour , by week 3 he ran in . Roll on the next course.

Donna & Dave

We have completed 2 courses with Kathryn with our cocker spaniel puppy and wouldn’t of got to the stage we have with him if it wasn’t for her. Kathryn has years of experience and is very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend (already have to few of my friends) and she will be the first person we call if any issues in the future x

Emma, Dave & Ralph

I have known Kathryn for many years, she is a great supporter of our rescue and has helped us in many ways over the years, her training only uses kind methods and has helped many owners and dogs. Kathryn is also a people person which is so important as a Trainer. I have no hesitation in recommending Kathryn as a Trainer.

Carolyne Poulton-Co-ordinator Labrador Rescue Scotland

I have known Kathryn for many years and she is an asset to our Rescue. Her gentle expertise and knowledge of dog behaviour has helped many a traumatised Golden to trust again. She will also help and advise new owners who may have a few teething problems in the first few weeks with a new dog. This is invaluable to us, the new owners and the Goldens. I would recommend her to anyone who has a problem whether it be small or large and I am sure she will work through it with you.
