Kathryn is an ADTB Accredited “Gold Level” training instructor, having completed all of the ADTB courses and completed a practical session. After completing her written training course with the ADTB, she attended weekly training classes. Here, she passed a practical assessment, to gain the “Accredited Gold Level Instructor” status.
She is a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild (GB), and is proud to follow their force free training methods, she is also a member of ITD, & ISCP and has had dogs all her life and currently owns a Golden Retriever.
Kathryn has been involved with various rescues and dog training since 2002, and has been heavily involved in front line rescue for over 10 years, and here she gained valuable “Real life” experience.
Whilst working in rescue she rehomed hundreds of dogs into their new home, and still helps local rescues with home assessments, and assessing dogs before they go to their new home, and helps at fundraising events.
She has also given talks to local community groups, on all aspects of Dog Training, and why it is so important to train your dog.
The training classes at Four Paws use fun and effective ways to train your dog.
The classes are run in a friendly manner, as dog training should be as much fun for the owner as it is for the dog.
The classes at Four Paws are structured, so you will learn something new every week.
All commands that you learn in class, are relevant to your everyday life, and all training in class is reward based.
Each dog is unique
Kathryn also recognises that each dog and person are unique, and that different techniques and approaches are required with different dogs and people, she is also always there to help or answer any questions that you may have, so don’t be afraid to ask.
If you think that Four Paws Dog Training, could be for you, and would like more information & how you can book your place on one of our courses, then please call us.

Happy Dogs = Happy Owners….
Recently attended the puppy training classes, which were excellent. Lots of new skills learned and lots to work on as adolescence approaches.
After an appointment with another dog trainer who’s approach was to include physical reprimands along with positive training, really concerned me and on that first session. Needless to say, I researched and contacted Kathryn. She not only worked so well with Alf, but she really understood his and my needs and objectives for the training. In an hour and a half, she had taught some of the basics and gave me so much invaluable advice. If you are looking for an understanding, experienced trainer who really does care then give Kathryn a call.
This place is a must for all new dog owners. We have been on the puppy and junior classes and our dog is so much the better for it. You are offered a safe, fun environment with a very knowledgeable tutor. I only wish there was another course as we enjoyed it that much and our dog did too. Keep up the good work.
Kath is fantastic . 5*. Me and Dave loved our Thursday night training , week 1 he hid under a chair for the hour , by week 3 he ran in . Roll on the next course.
We have completed 2 courses with Kathryn with our cocker spaniel puppy and wouldn’t of got to the stage we have with him if it wasn’t for her. Kathryn has years of experience and is very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend (already have to few of my friends) and she will be the first person we call if any issues in the future x
Took our little puppy Peanut and she has just graduated with a rosette. Cath is a very accomplished trainer who is extremely helpful and very personable. If in doubt go along, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thank you Cath xx 5+ stars from me
I have know Kathryn for many years, she is a great supporter of our rescue and has helped us in many ways over the years, her training only uses kind methods and has helped many owners and dogs. Kathryn is also a people person which is so important as a Trainer. I have no hesitation in recommending Kathryn as a Trainer.
I have known Kathryn for many years and she is an asset to our Rescue. Her gentle expertise and knowledge of dog behaviour has helped many a traumatised Golden to trust again. She will also help and advise new owners who may have a few teething problems in the first few weeks with a new dog. This is invaluable to us, the new owners and the Goldens. I would recommend her to anyone who has a problem whether it be small or large and I am sure she will work through it with you.
